the very first time i ran a recovery about 2 months ago was because i had a virus. As mentioned before there could be some serious detective work involved(I've done this on an XP machine, never tried it on Vista...yet). I ran all kinds of antivirus, adware, spyware checks and took it to local PC shop who did similar and tested memory and hard drive. i looked in device manager but there are no exclamation marks no where.
