This is usually located at /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office365/User Content/Startup/Word. I've moved the file linkCreation.dotm out of the folder (onto my desktop for now) and the application is back to normal functionality. That did it. If you have not moved it, a quick way to find it is to Ctrl + Click the Word icon in the Dock and choose Show In Finder. I left that in place, and it isn't causing a problem.
